Your Thick & Juicy hair ritual

You've got your hands on the Thick & Juicy Hair System, and we're here to help you get the most out of it.

Three simple steps. One happy head of hair.

  • Treat

    1. Treat once a week

Once a week, apply your Lil J Thick & Juicy Pre-Wash Treatment to dry hair, focusing on mid-lengths and ends. Massage gently and leave for at least 30 minutes.

  • Cleanse

    2. Shampoo twice

Wet your hair, lather up with your Lil J Thick & Juicy Shampoo and rinse. Repeat for a second cleanse to thoroughly wash away the treatment.

  • Condition

    3. Condition once

Apply your Lil J Thick & Juicy Conditioner, then rinse thoroughly.

    Hello, happy hair!

A lil tip from Jason

Consistency is key! Make your pre-wash treatment a weekly ritual and use your shampoo and conditioner as part of your regular wash routine.

Meet Thick & Juicy

A nourishing routine for thick, dry or coarse hair.

The 3-step routine combines a weekly pre-wash Treatment with Shampoo and Conditioner to care for thick, dry, coarse, frizz-prone or colour-treated hair.

A nourishing pre-wash Treatment applied through the mid-lengths and ends of dry hair for at least 30 minutes once a week.

Shampoo twice to thoroughly cleanse the hair and remove the Treatment.

Condition once to nourish, soften and support smoother, more manageable hair.

Thick hair and coarse hair aren't the same thing

They're often used together, but they describe different characteristics.

Thick hair generally refers to having a greater density or amount of hair.

Coarse hair describes individual strands with a larger diameter.

That means your hair can be thick without necessarily being coarse, and coarse without necessarily being especially thick.

What matters when choosing your routine is how your hair looks, feels and behaves. If it's thick, dry, rough, frizz-prone or difficult to manage, it may benefit from a more nourishing routine.

Thick vs coarse hair: what's the difference?  â†’ Read our guide.

Lil J Thick & Juicy for thick coloured hair

Why does thick hair often need more nourishment?

With more hair to care for and particularly when strands are dry, coarse, coloured or regularly heat-styled, maintaining softness and manageability can take a little more attention.

A treatment-first routine gives dry lengths dedicated care before cleansing, rather than relying on conditioner alone at the end of wash day.

Your questions, answered

What is thick hair?

Thick hair generally refers to having a greater density or amount of hair. It's different from coarse hair, which describes the diameter of individual strands.

Is thick hair the same as coarse hair?

No. You can have thick hair with finer individual strands, or coarse strands without especially high hair density. Your routine should take into account both your hair characteristics and concerns.

Is Thick & Juicy designed to make my hair thicker?

No. Despite the playful name, Thick & Juicy is designed to care for thick, dry, coarse and colour-treated hair. It isn't a hair-thickening, density or hair-growth treatment.

Where do I apply Thick & Juicy Treatment?

Apply Thick & Juicy Treatment through the mid-lengths and ends of dry hair rather than directly to the scalp.

How long should I leave Thick & Juicy Treatment on?

Leave the Treatment on dry hair for 30 minutes before shampooing.

How often should I use the Treatment?

Use Thick & Juicy Treatment once a week.

Should I shampoo once or twice after the Treatment?

Shampoo twice to thoroughly cleanse the hair and remove the Treatment, then condition once.

Is Thick & Juicy suitable for colour-treated hair?

Yes. Thick & Juicy is designed for thick, dry, coarse and colour-treated hair, and Lil J Haircare formulas are colour-safe.

Is Thick & Juicy suitable for frizzy hair?

If your thick, dry or coarse hair is also prone to frizz, Thick & Juicy can be used as part of a routine focused on nourishment, softness and manageability.
